Last week an Advanced Enviro-System that has been installed for 3 years and 9 months was excavated to allow the extension of the system to accommodate the construction of a Granny Flat on a rural property on the Sunshine Coast.

It was our first opportunity in Australia to closely inspect an operational system and understand how simple the process is to extend. Bradley Lucas from Flow Solutions Plumbing & Gas Service was the AES certified plumber engaged to install the extension and could not believe how simple the process was or how clean the sand surrounding the AES pipes was after more than 3 years of operation.

Bradley excavated and exposed the existing AES pipes and excavated the trench extension required. The heavy clay was ripped as per good construction technique and system sand placed. The end of the existing AES pipes can be seen in the top left of the photo, with the heavy clay soil ripped and ready for the system sand to be placed.

The extra lengths of AES pipes are connected with AES couplings

and the system sand placed and the system back filled

Bradley said connecting to the existing system was much easier than he expected. In fact the sand in the existing system was as clean as the day it was put in over 3 years ago

This photo shows the ends of the pipe opened up and how clean the sand is after almost 4 years

Proudly making passive septic systems safer than ever before.
