Work has commenced on the Kwikila Health Centre in Central Provence in PNG. The project was designed by Sydney firm BOSS Architecture. The brief and the design were to provide a wastewater treatment system that provided the highest quality treatment outcomes with the lowest ongoing cost.
A complex mechanical device would ultimately require replacement parts and skilled technical servicing to keep the system operational and to protect community and environmental outcomes.
Given they were constructing a Health Centre to improve the general health and well being of the local community, it was extremely important to Boss Architects that the chosen waste water system did not endanger community health in the event of power or component failure.
The chosen solution was the passive ADVANCED ENVIRO-SEPTIC delivered out of Brisbane
